Some of you already know what these ads are and others do not. Local Services Ads show at the top of a Google search for various service based industries. Interior design is not one of them…yet.
Google says they are trying to roll these out for all service based businesses, but it’s hard to tell if that’s true since they are still fairly new.
Here’s an example of what these ads look like:
For certain industries the ads show a picture of you, your business name and the amount of reviews you have on Google.
In other industries, you do not get a picture:
As of now, these are the services Google is testing LSA ads with:

Even though this list is large, some of these services are still not supported in various markets. This likely has to do with size and demand in those markets.
Cost of Local Services Ads
What’s nice about LSA’s is that you pay-per-lead (PPL). This means you only pay when someone contacts your business. This is much different than pay-per-click (PPC) ads.
With PPC ads you pay money every time someone clicks your ad regardless if they contact your business, or not. So, this means your advertising bill can stack up fairly quick when it comes to PPC.
Do LSA’s Work?
LSA’s can absolutely work! I’ve tested them for various lawyers and have seen results. That being said, I’ve also seen them flop big time. In my opinion, these tend to flop when you’re in a market that is very saturated.
With market saturation it gets hard to have good control of your ad visibility. So, if these ads do roll out for interior designers, test them out before your competitors do to see if they work in your market!
